A Message from Bruno Steinhoff
It began when I saw for myself the poverty and misery of the small children who had lost their parents due to AIDS. I couldn’t just turn away and so appealed to the humanity of my contacts in the greater international community for help in alleviating the distress I had witnessed first-hand. As a result of this appeal, I was able to found the Aids Orphans Project together with Abraham Kriel, and this later became the Steinhoff Extended Family Programme.
Steinhoff International play a support and management role in the project and it makes me immensely proud that the programme now consists of 300 children! By helping these children, we send a message of hope to the entire neighbourhood where they live as well as to all of those involved in the project. Any programme of this size and reach depends heavily on those that choose to become involved, and I am personally immensely thankful for the tremendous support our Extended Family Programme receives from the numerous teachers, trainers, social workers, kitchen staff and volunteers that are involved. Last but not least, I would like to thank all the friends and business partners from all over the world who have supported our programme and I would like to encourage all of you to maintain and open heart for our children in Soweto.
